Returning from a brief respite following the harrowing Bondurant trial, Mickey Haller is abruptly pulled back to reality by a heartbreaking call from the county jail.

Season 3 opens with Mickey Haller attempting to recalibrate his life after the bruising aftermath of the Lisa Trammell trial. But peace in Los Angeles is fleeting. When Julian La Cosse is held on high bail for the murder of an escort named 'Giselle Dallinger,' Mickey arrives at the lockup only to discover Giselle is an alias for his dear friend Gloria Dayton.

Julian insists Gloria gave him Mickey's business card with explicit instructions: 'If anything ever happens to me, call Mickey Haller—he is the only lawyer who can prove the truth.' Convinced of Julian's innocence, Mickey takes the defense pro bono, enlisting his trusted inner circle: Lorna, who is juggling final bar exam preparations while keeping the office running, and Cisco, who immediately uncovers signs of professional arson at Gloria's apartment.

The premiere also introduces Eddie Rojas (Allyn Moriyon), a former babysitter and client whom Mickey helped out of a bind, stepping in as Mickey's new driver. With the top down on the 1963 Lincoln Continental convertible, Mickey begins mapping out a defense against an invisible, deeply connected adversary.
